Refund & Returns Policy

Last updated: 17 August 2026

We want you to be happy with everything you buy from us. This policy explains when and how you can return a product or cancel a service, and what refunds you are entitled to. Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Who we are

South Wales Custom Computers, SWCC Office, Cardiff Street, Aberdare, CF44 7DG. Company number 12597092. Contact: contact@southwalescustomcomputers.com / 01685 673 700.

Changed your mind? 14-day returns

If you change your mind about a purchase, you can return it within 14 days of receiving it for a refund. To qualify, the item must be:

Just get in touch and we will arrange it. Refunds are made to your original payment method within 14 days of us receiving the item back. If you return an item to us by post or courier, the cost of return postage is yours unless the item is faulty. You are always welcome to return items in person to our Aberdare shop.

Exception - custom-built PCs: computers built to your personal specification are made to order, so they are excluded from change-of-mind returns once the build has started. Your rights in respect of faults (below) are not affected, and we will always talk through options with you before a build begins, including deposits.

Faulty goods

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, everything we sell must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If something we sold you develops a fault:

Warranty

Warranty repairs are carried out at our Aberdare workshop. The warranty covers hardware faults arising in normal use; it does not cover accidental damage, liquid damage, software issues unrelated to hardware, or faults caused by modification or misuse. Your statutory rights sit alongside, and are not limited by, our warranty.

Repairs and services

If you are not satisfied with a repair or service we have carried out, tell us and we will put it right. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, services must be carried out with reasonable care and skill; where they are not, you are entitled to have the work redone or, if that is not possible, an appropriate price reduction. Diagnostic fees, where charged, are explained before any work starts.

Installations

For security, network and other installation work, any deposit terms and cancellation arrangements are set out in your quote before work is booked. If you cancel before work starts, we refund any deposit less costs we have genuinely incurred (such as equipment ordered specifically for your job that we cannot return). Once an installation is complete, the workmanship and the equipment supplied are covered as described above.

Purchases made on finance

If you paid using a finance or instalment option, refunds are processed back through the finance provider, and your credit agreement is adjusted or cancelled accordingly. Your cancellation rights under the credit agreement itself are set out in the agreement documents provided by the lender.

How to start a return

Please have your receipt, invoice or order reference handy. If you no longer have it, we can usually look your purchase up.
